Recall- Infiniti M35 & M45 (engine stall issue)

Nissan North America, Inc. known to the general public as Nissan is recalling some 2006 through 2010 Infiniti M35 and M45 vehicles manufactured between April 4, 2004, and October 5, 2010. The problems that have occured with certain vehicles stem from the deterioration of the accelerator pedal sensor over time. The deteriorated pedal sensor incorrectly sends out the wrong signal which causes the engine to go into fail-safe (limp home) mode. In this fail-safe mode, throttle valve deposits may cause the engine to stall when the vehicle is coming to a stop or at idle, thereby increasing the risk of a crash and resulting injury or death to occupants and others on and around the roadways. Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will replace the accelerator pedal assembly and reprogram the engine control module, free of charge. This recall is expected to begin in November 2013. Consumers may contact Nissan directly at 1-800-647-7261.
